About

Hey there. If you haven’t guessed by now, my name is Eric Johnson and I’m a writer.

If you’ve found your way here, it’s probably because of the Burly Flow stuff, but there’s more to me than that.

The small, fictitious town of Burly Flow, Wisconsin has been the center of my creative world for over twenty years, and while it’s still the main thrust of my personal creative output, I also do a fair amount of freelance work.

Before setting off on my own in 2021, I worked as a journalist and later, in the communications/media relations arena, ending up as editor of a university’s alumni and research magazines.

The freelance stuff is what pays the bills (sort of), but what continues to get me out of bed in the morning — early in the morning — is the Burly Flow stuff. Currently, I’m about a third of the way through the rough draft of Still Casting, a novel that picks up where North of Buffett, the fictional memoir of Calum Mayweather, leaves off. So if you’re an agent and you like what you see — shoot me an email.
